In April we were very proud to receive a Cheltenham Civic Award. We received the award in the category of ‘A new building or structure’ for Kings Hollow.
‘During the last 50 years the Cheltenham Civic Society has vigorously campaigned for the preservation and enhancement of this beautiful town, both by opposing schemes that undermine the essence of the character of a garden town and encouraging good contemporary design to complement one of the largest conservation areas in a town in Europe.
For many years Cheltenham Civic Society has run the annual Civic Award Scheme, which is sponsored by Cheltenham Borough Council, to encourage and recognise good design and workmanship in both restoration of and improvements to Cheltenham’s fine architectural and environmental heritage and in contemporary new buildings and structures.’
Cheltenham Civic Society said about Kings Hollow “ The development of ten town houses is of a high standard with a strong architectural form providing unity to the scheme with variations of house type. Practical matters like parking and bin storage are dealt with through landscaping and integration within the built form. This scheme sets a benchmark for small developers”
